Host & Writer Brent Strawn: In Parallel is written and narrated by Dr. Brent Strawn. Brent is professor of Old Testament and Law at Duke Divinity School and Duke University. He harbors a life-long love of poetry, ancient and modern. He taught for 18 years at Candler School of Theology at Emory University before joining the Duke faculty just a few years ago. He’s the author of several books, including The Old Testament Is Dying (Baker Academic, 2017), The Old Testament: A Concise Introduction (Routledge, 2019), and Lies My Preacher Told Me: An Honest Look at the Old Testament (WJK Press, 2021). His most recent book is Honest to God Preaching: Talking Sin, Suffering, and Violence (Fortress Press, 2021).
